Welcome to the mystical kingdom of Bhutan! Upon arrival at Bagdogra Airport, you'll be greeted and transferred to Phuentsholing, a vibrant border town that serves as the gateway into Bhutan. Check into your hotel, relax and enjoy your first evening amid peaceful surroundings.
Begin your scenic drive to Thimphu, the enchanting capital city. En route, visit Kharbandi Gompa, a beautiful monastery built by the Royal Grandmother, offering panoramic views of Phuentsholing and the Bengal plains. Upon reaching Thimphu, enjoy free time to explore the local vibe or simply unwind.
After breakfast, delve into Thimphu’s rich heritage. Visit the Buddha Dordenma, an awe-inspiring 169-foot-tall statue of Buddha. Stop by Changangkha Lhakhang, the city’s oldest temple, and explore the majestic Tashichho Dzong, a fortress and monastery that houses the throne room and offices of the king. Don’t miss the National Library and Handicraft Center for a touch of tradition.
En route to Punakha, pass through the stunning Dochula Pass, adorned with 108 chortens offering spectacular views of the eastern Himalayas. Explore the Punakha Dzong, Bhutan’s most picturesque fortress at the confluence of two rivers, and experience a thrilling optional session of white-water rafting on the Pho Chu river.
Travel to Paro and uncover Bhutan’s treasures. Visit the iconic Drukgyal Dzong, once a fortress against Tibetan invasions. Explore Rinpung Dzong, an impressive monastery-fortress, and the National Museum (Ta Dzong). End the day with a peaceful visit to the sacred Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest temples.
Enjoy a scenic excursion to Chele La Pass, the highest motorable road in Bhutan, offering breathtaking views of the snow-clad Himalayas and lush Haa Valley. In the evening, witness a traditional Bhutanese cultural performance, followed by local market shopping for souvenirs.
Start your day early with a trek to the legendary Taktsang Monastery (Tiger’s Nest), perched on a cliff 3,000 meters above sea level. The 12-km round-trip trek is rewarding with its serene beauty and spiritual energy. After lunch, drive back to Phuentsholing for overnight stay.
Cross back into India and drive to Siliguri, a city nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas. Visit the serene ISKCON Temple (Sri Sri Radha Madhav Mandir) and enjoy a calm evening in this charming town.
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Bagdogra Airport for your onward journey. Carry home divine blessings and unforgettable memories of the Land of Happiness.
